I need to get better at this! Each time I’ve tried to start a blog there’s been a different reason for it..this time though, yes there’s another reason but I’m really gonna try my best to keep it up!

Last time I started was because I was embarking on a new journey to Canada (Sorry I didn’t keep you posted!).. it was the most amazing time of my life-however it was extremely expensive (I was always broke!) buuuut I’d say the Summer was a lot better-I’d advise everyone to go at least once in their life! I will be posting a link to another post detailing what we got up to throughout the seasons!

Now I know it sounds cheesy and cliched, but the one thing I never ever expected to find in Canada was the man of my dreams.. but I actually did find him and we’re still together! I was actually living with his sister when we met, it was the night before he flew to Mexico for 3 weeks and I happened to bump into him and his sister when they were starting their night out-we went for some drinks, but both myself and his sister agreed we weren’t going ‘underground’ and we were going home by 11pm. Fast forward to the early hours of the night and we were dancing like absolute idiots in Buffalo Bills doing the sprinkler! Apparently we even shared a little smooch that night outside..but I was definitely way too drunk to remember that! haha. I have never laughed so much as I did that night! And then he was gone for 3 weeks 😦

As soon as he was back though we all went out for his sisters birthday and have been inseparable since! Within 3 months we had our own place together in Whistler and had the most amazing Summer together! I knew after the first night together that he was the one for me. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had our ups and downs-in the early Whistler winter days we definitely hit a few speed bumps, mainly due to the fact that both of us had been single for so long, we weren’t really used to thinking about someone else and both partied pretty hard…but everything that happened in the early days and all the lessons we’ve learnt has definitely made us stronger. I think we both knew that this was different, something more than just a Whistler fling.. we had such a great Summer but it was weird thinking about the ‘real world’ and what we were gonna do..I was adamant about London as I did really miss it in Canada, but then when I realised what we could get for our money up in Manchester it just didn’t compare-we were going to move up North!

First off though, I had to clear my debts. I got offered a job in Turkmenistan with a previous company and although I love working for the company and with the old team, it really was the worst job of my life! It was an extremely tough job anyway, but on top of that the country was pretty brutal too and it meant that Ollie and I were apart for 6 weeks-he was still in Canada and I was 12 hours ahead in Turkmenistan. That job was physically and mentally exhausting. I was on my knees by the end of it and was very ill after I came back. However, I did end up clearing my debts! πŸ™‚

Ollie and I both landed back in the UK and then it was time for us to start looking for places and jobs up north. To start with it was really brutal and disheartening. I ended up taking a job in London so I was earning money, I really enjoyed the job and loved the team, but couldn’t get back into the London headspace of being very chaotic and fast paced constantly-I enjoyed it a lot more when I was single that’s for sure! Ollie struggled to find work to start with and we both found not living together, back with our parents and commuting to each other each weekend was really tough…

But as I came up for 10 days just before Christmas, on the last dayΒ  of my London contract, I got a call and was offered a long contract on an awesome job up in Manchester! Ollie had also started training in his new job too and we were both getting so excited about our future together again, everything just seemed to be falling into place..

During my time with Ollie’s family up North I was looking at flats for us. After a few days, I found our dream flat and called to view it the next day. I viewed it, loved it and said we’d take it.. Ollie hadn’t even seen it before we moved in but he trusted me, luckily he loves it! We signed it just before Christmas and that was it-moving date 2nd Jan! Everything was set, a huge weight off of our shoulders, so we could just focus on having a great Christmas with our families. I had such a great Christmas with my family-my brother was back from America and it was just so lovely πŸ™‚

So that’s the back story…now for the real reason of this post…as I say it’s been a real time of change!

I am loving life up north! Honestly I think it’s been the best move I’ve ever made. We moved to Chorlton and the house is now finally a home πŸ™‚ There’s so much to do in our area-bars, restaurants, the whole lot-everyone is so friendly and I’m getting involved in the community. We went to some meet ups (much less strange than the London ones!), including a pub quiz and ended up making a group of friends! Ollie even plays footie with the boys! It’s so nice having friends up here! πŸ™‚

I have also joined a local gym, literally down the road from me. It’s called Little Box Gym and the owner Sarah is so lovely! She runs the gym with her Mum and Nan-they never stop bless them! Such a lovely community feel to it-met some awesome people there too. A couple of weeks ago I got added into a whatsapp group for boxfit, and thought it was to schedule some more hardcore classes for a group of us. Turns out, I was wrong! I went to the gym one night and was chatting with Sarah and she was like ‘are you ready for this, it’s gonna get intense!’ I said yeh.. she then proceeded to tell me the actual reason behind the whatsapp group.. we’re doing an 8 week fitness regime here to build up our fitness levels, we then submit our team and go through an 8 week bootcamp with a professional boxing coach and then.. FIGHT NIGHT!!! We’re going to do a pink collared (just girls) boxing match for charity! I can’t wait! There’s a team of us training-we’re called the Lunachicks πŸ™‚ I’ll keep you up to date with our antics on here, I’m excited to see how far I can push myself and am absolutely up for the challenge! I love having a new project πŸ™‚ It’s also a great stress buster too πŸ˜‰

I used to always be a very anxious, restless person and for the first time since I can remember it has now subsided. I feel settled. I feel good. Everything has just slotted into place, I just feel this is where I’m meant to be. I don’t have that little on edge voice anymore. I’m excited about what the future holds and can’t wait to see how far I can go with my fitness and to put more roots down here. I’m even more excited for June-when I can decide what’s next for me πŸ™‚

Until next time! xx

First post from Whistler!:)

Hey all!

Sorry I haven’t updated this for a while.. It’s been a month since I left the UK and it’s been a crazy few weeks getting everything sorted.. But I’m finally set up in Whistler! πŸ™‚

I’ll start from the beginning.. First we arrived at the hostel and realized that we had to drag our extremely heavy suitcases up a lot of stairs, definitely made quite the entrance! We then made our way into town, trying to familiarize ourselves and almost had a heart attack about how expensive groceries are out here!

For the first few days we ended up handing out resumes, looking and applying for various houses (the housing problem around here is absolutely ridiculous.. Some of the prices for what’s on offer is crazy, everyone is really struggling here trying to find somewhere to live for winter), we also went hiking around different places-it’s so so beautiful out here!! Can’t believe I’m finally here!

We ended up making friends with a group at the hostel and a guy named Phteven (but we called him Stanley), we ended up going hiking and on some very messy nights out with him!!

One of the highlights of our couple of weeks in the hostel was when we went to Garfs (one of the local clubs, always gets very messy!) and got very drunk, it took what is a 5 minute walk to McDonald’s from the club, took myself and Ash 45 mins to reach it! When we got back to the hostel, I was quite happily sleeping when I got woken up first thing in the morning by Ash going ‘Georgia who’s in my bed?!’ I was very confused as she had definitely been on her own.. Turns out, a random guy at the hostel had got so drunk and thought Ashs bed was his!! He was so wasted!

The following day the whole hostel was disgustingly hungover so a movie and pizza day ensued. I also heard back from a couple of jobs in the village and arranged a few trial shifts πŸ™‚ we also went and saw a couple of houses-we went a viewed a house that was great, it was with several others, was huge and the shared bedroom on offer was massive, we really wanted it! We were the first to view it and had to wait for a week until we heard back.. We then went to view a sublet for October with 2 Irish guys that was great and we wanted if the house didn’t come through.. We couldn’t stop thinking about the house we viewed though.

I had my trial shift at Moguls coffee shop and absolutely loved it! The team are all so lovely, welcoming and friendly and I get to meet all the locals, they’re all so great, it’s such a community here πŸ™‚ I now work at Moguls full time which I’m so happy about, I also work part time at The Keg as a hostess a couple of times a week-the jobs are all sorted, we were just waiting to hear about the house!

Finally, the wait was over, and we got the place!!! We moved in and met all of our new house mates-they’re great! Absolutely hilarious, I think it’s gonna be a great winter here πŸ™‚

We’ve had a couple of nights out since we moved in.. I said I was going to do Sober October (it didn’t last long at all) they’ve all been very messy nights out..

Thanksgiving came around and the town was pretty busy, this was mostly due to the Turkey Sale that was going on. The sale is where everyone can get ski/snowboard gear for the season at much cheaper prices than normal. I managed to get some great boots, skis, helmet and my poles for $600-can’t wait to get out on the mountain now! We’ve had quite a lot of snow up here, especially with the big BC storm, so I’m really hoping it means the mountain will open earlier, everyone thinks it will so fingers crossed!:)

On the Saturday we had a house family thanksgiving dinner which was so lovely! We came home and Harvey was in his chef whites cooking us an awesome feast! He even made starters that he talked us through too. The meal was amazing! We then ended up drinking a lot of wine, played Heads Up, which was absolutely hilarious-especially the more merry we got! We then had a bit of a rave to 90’s music in the house (safe to say we all love a bit of S Club thank god!), after this we all thought it would be a great idea to bundle in a cab and then head into town for a dance at Bill’s (another great local place) and had such a great night-so funny! So glad me and Ash are in this place, we’re a proper little family-love it!! Can’t wait for Christmas now πŸ™‚

Another memorable night was when we celebrated Tara’s birthday on Thursday.. We had pre drinks here and I got to meet loads of new people as everyone had their mates round for pre drinks πŸ™‚ we had such a great night at Garf’s again and as some of the guys knew who was on shift, we were in the VIP section-it was a wild night, so much fun! That is until I left and rolled my bad ankle-badly spraining it again!:/

Had to rest for a few days, but I’m hoping I can get some physio in before the season starts to actually try and fix my ankle up a bit.

All in all, I’m loving Whistler life! Starting to really settle in now, getting to know the locals and with my little Moguls family, hostel group and the house family it’s all coming together πŸ™‚

Just can’t wait for the season to start, think it’s gonna be epic!!:)

I’ll update you guys soon!

My first post from Canada!

Hello all!

Well… My big adventure has finally started!!! πŸ˜€ on 13th September, after some of the hardest goodbyes I’ve had to do to my family and friends, (and one of the best nights out I’ve had), I finally flew to Canada!

I was definitely the one with the most luggage and it was all overweight which wasn’t ideal..but I wasn’t surprised… Classic Georgia move. Everyone on the group flight was severely shocked and kept ripping in to me! Haha thank god Ashleigh arrived and had just as much luggage πŸ™‚ Everyone was really lovely in the group, but myself & Ashleigh were definitely the loudest and maddest.. We then hit the prosecco at the airport which didn’t help!πŸ™ˆ

First off we had a stopover in Iceland, we ended up playing some drinking games with everyone and a couple of us ventured out in to the town to try and find a bar but it was all really expensive so we just headed back.. Turns out we were a lot more drunk then we thought!

The next day, we had a tour round the Golden Circle and saw Geysers, tectonic plates, Gulsoff waterfall and some Icelandic horses and countryside πŸ™‚ it was cool to see around the country but the weather was really bad-cold and very wet!! Iceland is also so remote, don’t know if I could hack living there!

On the final day we ended up going to the Hot Springs Spa which was amazing, but again, the weather was so bad! And I couldn’t really relax as I found out I had lost my purse! Hadn’t even got to Canada and had already lost something!:/ the hostel said they couldn’t find it either so I just had to cancel everything and deal with it.. First lesson learnt-keep things together and safe!!!!

Finally, we were on our way to Canada! We hit 3 hours in and Ashleigh and me went a bit doolally.. When we were flying across Canada and into Vancouver though, oh god our attention was there! It was absolutely stunning!!! I had tears in my eyes and felt so emotional as I just couldn’t believe we were finally here!! I’ve spent so long dreaming about it and it just hit me that it was coming true!

Immigration was easy enough and soon we were settling into our hostel and grabbing dinner. Our hostel was above a busy bar, a very busy and big hostel and right on the party strip known as Granville. Ash & I decided that we would get an early night so got all tucked up in bed, drifting off to sleep, when about half an hour later.. We heard a massive crash come through the door and that’s when Art & Jeff crashed into our lives!! Jeff was from Skisatchowa (definitely can’t spell it!!) and had recently moved to Vancouver, Art was from San Diego but was on vacation, travelling around and had come to visit Jeff for a few days.. They met last year in Oz πŸ™‚

They were already drunk when they came stumbling in and tried to make us go out with them.. We said no! we then sat talking to them for a good couple of hours, they were really cool and was definitely an interesting intro into hostel life for me! πŸ™‚ we ended up spending our time in Vancouver with them, and had such a laugh!:)

The next day, we had a SWAP orientation and ended up setting up bank accounts, IDs, everything to make us a citizen in Canada-so exciting!! Oh and my purse got found in Iceland! It’s currently on its way to us!:) we then hit the town with Art & Jeff and ended up at an Irish pub for a few, a good night but we were shattered so didn’t stay out for long.. I tapped out early as the boys said and ripped into me for!πŸ™ˆ

The next morning we caught up on some sleep and didn’t leave the hostel until about 2pm. We were in desperate need for some exercise so we decided we’d try and find a free gym pass to use for the day.. We found a very nice gym and all 4 of us went and did a session-we felt so much better after it!!:) Tonight was the night for us to experience the legendary Roxy bar. They had a live band on singing one hit wonders.. I could not wait!! Safe to say it didn’t disappoint! I ended up getting very merry at the pre drinks in the hostel and then somehow managed to blag everyone into Roxy in front of the queue to get our night really underway.. Still managed that after a few bevvies!;) We had such a fun and hilarious night, all of us were singing our hearts out and the band were awesome (we were not as Snapchat story told us so!). We came out of the club and they pedestrianise Granville (so cool!) so everyone piled out and if was entertaining to watch πŸ™‚

Safe to say, the next morning we were dying/ still very drunk.. So somehow managed to stagger down the street to grab some breakfast-man the fry ups are good here!! As is poutine… That is the best drunk food ever!!😍 Ash & I then decided that we were going to continue our active streak and head to Stanley Park to go for a cheeky cycle by the Seawall.

Well, when we got there we tried to rent a tandem bike.. It was absolutely hilarious! The bike seat was too high for Ash but was the lowest it could go, so her feet couldn’t even touch the floor and I couldn’t see in front of me coz of her arse! This was all happening in the middle of a very busy sideway and everyone was creasing up at us, me and Ash couldn’t breathe we were laughing so much!! We then opted for seperate bikes πŸ™‚ wow Vancouver is stunning!! How could anyone get bored here?! We had an amazing bike ride, all along the sea wall, viewing the totem poles, lighthouse, Lion Gate Bridge.. It really was breathtaking! Photos just don’t do it justice!!! After this we took a walk through Gas Town & China Town then ended up in Β the wrong part of town (Eastside :s) and quickly made a sharp exit, pretty much running up the hill to home!

After that we were shattered so just cooked some dinner and did some admin-resumes etc.

Our last day in Vancouver and we had to say goodbye to Jeff & Art, hopefully they’ll come visit in Whistler!:) I absolutely love Vancouver and can’t wait to go back there and explore some more very soon!

For now though.. Next stop… WHISTLER BABY!!!!πŸ˜πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸΎ

Sorry it’s been a while.. But I’m back!

Hey! Sorry I’ve been MIA recently.. This summer has been CRAZY!

First off.. Only 4 days until I leave for Canada!! It has come round so quick and I’m now starting to feel very excited but at the same time absolutely bricking it! I’m just wanting to get out there and sort stuff out, set myself up a bit more and then I think I’ll be able to relax a bit more 😊

In other news.. I’m a Single Pringle again so can keep you updated on my dating experiences once again.. I wonder what The Canadian dating scene is like… 😏

I’ve realized that I’m a lot more productive out of a relationship, I started to lose myself again by trying to keep them happy at the expense of my own happiness towards the end, but luckily I realized this and stopped myself, putting my foot down and realizing what I needed to do for myself. Sometimes you’ve gotta put yourself first! 😊 since I ended it, I have actually managed to complete my PT course and am now a fully qualified Personal Trainer & Gym Instructor! 😁 I can’t wait to put this in to practise and start helping people feel better about themselves! This is going to open so many more doors for me and I finally have that extra string to add to my bow ☺️it was a tough few months to complete, but looking back I can say I’m proud of how well I did. I met some awesome people who I hope to keep in contact with as they really helped me believe in myself that I can be a great trainer! I was a little overwhelmed at first and started really doubting myself.. But they wouldn’t let me give up and really supported me through it-so thank you guys!

Since passing, I’ve been helping our family friends slim down for their wedding and it’s going really well! Going to have to FaceTime when I get to Canada but where there’s a will there’s a way!

Preparing for Canada has been tough.. I mean to start with.. How do you pack for 2 years?! With only 2 suitcases allowed.. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE!! Preparing to say goodbye to everyone just fills me with dread.. I have my leaving do tonight so just hoping I hold it together for that!! Saying goodbye to my family and the girls is going to be the killer.. Really don’t want to leave them, I want them all to come with me! But I know I’ve gotta do this myself.. Just can’t wait to see them next summer, gonna be counting down the days and make sure they have the best trip when they come out!!😁

Anyway, I will actually be able to do regular updates on my travels so I shall keep you posted!!

Any tips for travelling by yourself/ doing a ski season would be greatly appreciated!!

My Little Canadian Dream..Β

So this is in response to the Daily Prompt’s post the other day.. Dream.
Dreams are what everyone has, but noone’s is ever the same. Personally I feel that dreams are some of the most personal things that a person has, as it tells so much of who you are as a person and what you aspire to be.

I’m a firm believer in going after your dreams. That’s all people say I do, that I have many big dreams and that they change daily.. My ideas change daily, never my dreams! I do have a lot of them.. Some are very long term, ultimate dreams.. Others are just day to day dreams, some are just to help me escape reality and my own headspace at times. My biggest dream of all is to see as much of the world as I can and to not have any regrets. I know it sounds cliche but that’s all I want at the minute, I know as I grow and find out more about myself then these dreams will grow and change too but for now I’d be happy with this.

I guess I’ve set this in motion and why I’ve started this blog.. For a while now I have dreamt of going to and working in Canada as I think it’s an amazing country and I’ve heard so many incredible things about it. I managed to have my visa to go about 18 months back, however due to an ankle operation, I had to abort that plan. It all worked out in the end, it enabled me to work on the Sports Presentation team at The Rugby World Cup which was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. That Canadian dream was always in the back of my head though. I had a lot of people say to me ‘I knew you wouldn’t go, it was just another pipeline dream for you Georgia’, which was disheartening.. I then managed to get my visa again, it’s a two year one, after a tense waiting game for that invite and I started booking my flight, looking into jobs etc.. It’s all starting to feel real! On September 13th (luckily not on a Friday!) I am on a one way flight to Canada (via a short break in Iceland)! Safe to say, the doubters are shocked that I’m actually going-but that spurs me on to make sure I go and make the most of it! I am so unbelievably excited that I finally get the chance to live out my dream and immerse myself into a completely new life. I’m going so far out of my comfort zone which of course scares me a lot but then I just think of how much fun it’s going to be and how much I’m going to find out about myself and I stop panicking and just embrace the fear.

There are two different types of people in this world, the ones that go out and make those dreams a reality and the ones who go oh it’s only a dream, I could never do that. As one of my biggest idols, Audrey Hepburn once said.. ‘Nothing is impossible. The word itself says I’m Possible.’

Please comment and let me know what your dreams are too!

Hi all,

Bear with me as I have no idea what I’m doing (or how this blog malarkey works…)

I don’t quite know what made me want to write this…maybe I’m missing the creative writing English lessons from school…

I just want to introduce myself really and then go from there. Firstly, this blog won’t be about beauty/fashion’ll kind of be my take on life I guess. An honest account of what it’s like being a twenty something navigating how to have a life whilst being flat broke and how to juggle numerous things whilst learning to work hard and party harder-trying to figure out that balance! It has no real purpose..boring for most people so I doubt many will read, but it could be good for the soul!
About me, well, I’m a 22 year old party girl and as my friends know, I am fiesty, bubbly, up for a laugh, very open, jump at new challenges and a little bit mad (also obsessed with TV/Film & sloths!). I don’t really have any boundaries in what I’ll talk about and encourage others to be the same, I think it’s great to hear others opinions and sometimes talking (or typing in this case) can be really helpful for others.

I would say I have more of an unusual life compared to some of my friends and what they’re doing with their lives at the minute (don’t mean that to sound dickish), I mean it in the sense that I’ve always known what I’ve wanted to do with my life and took some pretty big risks to launch my career, when others didn’t know what they wanted to so (some still don’t) I’m not knocking that, just giving a picture of different paths people take I guess. I dropped out of college after my first year to do an apprenticeship with ITV, my parents didn’t even know I had applied until I announced I had quit college and started at ITV HQ the following week.. Luckily they’re great and supported me even though they didn’t know the industry and luckily so far, touch wood, things have worked out ok. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes being freelance can be bloody hard, and sometimes wonder should I have done the whole uni thing, but I feel that it’s made me that bit tougher and I’ve learnt some pretty hard life lessons being thrown into a working environment and such a brutal industry at a young age, but I still love every second and count myself very lucky.

I am currently living back at home (trying to save money to go travelling) after living in London all of last year.. and working full time in TV & Event production. At the minute I’m working on a pretty big job which involves travelling to Shanghai, it’ll be my first time there and thought this could be a good way to document my travels through this job and further down the line. I know a lot of others are doing what I’m doing but I’m at a stage in my life where I’m at a crossroads (I’ll explain more later) and having a lot of things put into perspective and maybe some of my mad ramblings might resonate with some of you guys!

I would love to start conversations and interact with others on this site so feel free to message me. (Please go easy on the critique though, I’m a blog virgin!)

Anyway, I think that’s enough of an introduction.. Look forward to hearing from you and posting again!
